Other Modality Descriptions: Corporate/Chair setting Massage: Ahh, my FAVORITE!
Mostly because an employee in the middle of work is usually the most
appreciative of a 10-20 minute seated shiatsu massage. This modality is far and away my most
versed. I am available for corporate
events, and can stand up to very tough demands of a non-stop routine with back to back
clients. I have the best massage chair
on the market as well, and can dress appropriately for any work
environment. I am professional
appearing, clean-cut, no tattoos or body piercing. Best of all, it is the one modality that
transcends almost every type of person and comfort level. Current satisfied corporate clients include: ![]() ![]()
Deep Tissue Massage: Muscles fibers are wrapped in layers, bundles of
fibers are layered, and there are more layers around those. The entire body is wrapped in layers called
fascia. When the movement of a muscle is
impaired, the layers that normally glide over each other begin to adhere
together and move as one undifferentiated group instead of freely. Adhesions or “knots” are the results of these
imparities. Since deep fascia encases
the muscles, deep tissue massage can separate these once “glued” muscles. The results are often dramatic in terms of
increased range of motion, decreased pain, and increased energy. Deep Tissue Massage manipulates and stretches
the fascia at the joints, between muscle groups, within individual muscles, and
along bony structures. Specialized deep
tissue is also known as Myofascial
Release (MFT). Overall deep tissue
is longer than specialized, and I recommend at least 90 minutes for more than 2
areas of deep tissue. Aromatherapy:
I use only certified organic essential oils. Adding blends monthly, as of June I have
“Joy”, a mix of orange, peppermint, and lavender oils. One client has bad knees and loves the
peppermint applied to her knees. I also
have “creamsicle”, based on my favorite ice cream bar as a kid; it is a 50/50
blend of orange and vanilla oils. There
are thousands of paragraphs on the benefits of aromatherapy; I’ll link to them here. Reflexology of the foot: under const. Lymphatic Massage:
